My Next Chapter

A docu-series dedicated to those whose lives were improved through sport; navigating the chapters of life in pursuit of a better and brighter future.

Concept

A short form documentary series about the positive effect sport can have on an individual’s life. Even more so on an individual that has had to overcome many hurdles and lived through many chapters to achieve success or establish a brighter future.

Real people, with real stories.

The working title for the project is “My next chapter” and the quote by Mario Gotze that will be used as a common thread throughout all the episodes is as follows: “Every chapter in life helps you move forward”.

Ep 1. // Michael Mutombo

In this heartfelt and motivating video, we dive into the story of Michael Mutombo, a rugby player who has overcome many challenges on his path to success. Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Michael and his family left their home country when he was just a child, seeking a safer and brighter future.

Watch as Michael shares his inspiring story of discovering his passion for rugby, how he navigated cultural shifts, language barriers, and the pressures of adapting to a new environment, all while honing his skills on the rugby field and pursuing his dreams of becoming a professional athlete.

My Next Chapter
Funding

We require financial backing to produce 5 more episodes (6 in total), similar in style and tone to the pilot episode (episode 1). The specifics of the financial backing is still to be discussed with the prospecting financier, and will be affected by the specific output/deliverables. The financial backing will go towards the small team of 2 creators which will handle the entire project - from pre production (planning & scripting), production and post-production. Future episodes will vary in terms of subject and sport and the series is not dedicated to rugby only.

If you would like to partially contribute or fully fund the remaining episodes, please reach out to us via the contact form below. There are many stories such as Michael's that deserve to be told and will inspire others to work hard and pursue their dreams.
